Mistrello

Officine Mistrello is an Italian manufacturer specialising in the design and production of advanced storage, handling and automation systems for glass and stone slabs.

The Mistrello family's manufacturing history dates back to 1805, with more than two centuries of experience in metalworking and engineering. Officine Mistrello entered the glass machinery industry in 1993, initially developing storage systems for large glass sheets before progressing into increasingly sophisticated automated handling solutions.

Today, Mistrello designs and manufactures systems for the vertical storage, movement, loading and unloading of sheet materials, with solutions for both the glass and stone industries. Its technology can handle materials including flat glass, marble, granite, quartz and ceramic slabs.

A major strength of Mistrello is its approach to factory space optimisation. Its compact storage systems use movable racks that travel on floor-mounted rails, allowing the racks to be stored closely together and automatically or semi-automatically opened only where access is required. This can significantly reduce the floor space required for storing large quantities of glass or stone slabs.

Mistrello also develops fully automated storage and handling systems that can integrate directly with existing or new production machinery. Automated solutions can manage the movement of material from storage through to downstream processing equipment, reducing manual handling and creating a more efficient production flow. Mistrello produced its first fully automated glass storage and handling system as early as 1997.

The systems are highly modular and customisable. Factory space, material dimensions, storage capacity, production flow and surrounding machinery can all be considered when developing the final installation. This allows Mistrello to provide solutions ranging from relatively straightforward compact storage systems to sophisticated fully automated material management plants.

Alongside storage systems, Mistrello manufactures specialised loading and unloading equipment, glass pack lifting grabs, single-sheet storage and recovery systems and automatic handling technology, allowing complete material logistics solutions to be developed around the customer's production requirements.

With more than 1,000 installations worldwide and equipment operating across 59 countries, Mistrello combines long-established Italian engineering with modern automation, software and highly customised system design.
