Magicwire 16 Multi Wire

The Pellegrini Magicwire 16 is a compact multi-wire diamond saw developed for flexible and efficient production of marble, granite and natural stone slabs.

Designed to operate with up to 16 diamond wires, the Magicwire 16 combines multi-wire productivity with an innovative compact cutting geometry. The standard machine provides a 1 metre cutting coverage, while the Magicwire 16 XL increases this to 1.5 metres, allowing considerably thicker slabs to be produced while using all 16 wires.

One of the distinguishing features of Magicwire is the simplicity of its wire path. The cutting geometry uses a 1,000 mm motor drum, sixteen 1,500 mm tensioning flywheels and two 600 mm guide drums. Pellegrini designed this arrangement to simplify and improve the reliability of diamond-wire management.

The standard Magicwire 16 can produce slabs from 20 mm thick. With all 16 wires installed, nominal slab thickness can be adjusted between 20 and 60 mm. By reducing the number of wires, increasingly thicker products can be produced, reaching 20–100 mm with 10 wires.

Changing slab thickness is designed to be straightforward. On the tensioning side, the flywheels are moved manually along the shaft and open spacers inserted between them to establish the required wire positions.

The machine incorporates Pellegrini's patented multi-wire tensioning technology, a system developed and proven across its multi-wire machine range. This helps optimise diamond-wire control, performance and service life.

A touchscreen operator interface provides access to machine status and operating parameters, while auxiliary functions such as lubrication and adjustment are concentrated into an accessible area for easier operation and maintenance. Large access doors and a working platform with safety stairs further simplify servicing.

The Magicwire 16 offers a useful cutting length of 3,500 mm and cutting height of 2,100 mm. The main motor is rated at 75 kW, with variable diamond-wire speed from 0–40 m/s.

For producers requiring greater thickness flexibility, the Magicwire 16 XL extends the cutting coverage to 1.5 metres. With 16 wires it can produce nominal slab thicknesses from 20–90 mm, increasing to as much as 160 mm when operating with 10 wires.

The Magicwire concept therefore provides an attractive solution for stone processors that need multi-wire productivity without committing to a very large high-wire-count production system, while retaining the flexibility to change finished slab thickness.
