About the Bovone ELB 14 Straight-Line Glass Edging Machine
The Bovone ELB 14 is a high-performance straight-line glass edging machine designed to produce exceptionally polished flat edges and arrises, including on very small glass pieces.
The machine builds on Bovoneโs established flat-edge polishing technology by adding two wheels specifically dedicated to polishing the arrises. This enables the ELB 14 to complete the grinding and polishing of the flat edge and both arrises in a single pass, delivering a consistently high-quality finish across all three surfaces.
Its 14-wheel configuration distributes grinding, material removal and polishing across multiple processing positions. This supports excellent edge flatness, clarity and repeatability while maintaining reliable continuous production.
One of the ELB 14โs most distinctive features is its small-glass processing capability. Glass up to 19 mm thick can be processed from minimum sizes of 35 ร 35 mm or 25 ร 50 mm, making the machine particularly suitable for samples, small components and specialist glass products.
For glass above 19 mm thick, the minimum published glass size is 50 ร 50 mm.
The machine processes glass from 1 to 50 mm thick as standard, with an optional configuration available for glass up to 60 mm. Its working speed is continuously adjustable from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min, allowing production parameters to be matched to the glass thickness, edge dimensions and required finishing quality.
The two dedicated arris-polishing wheels allow the machine to produce a bright and consistent finish on both arrises. This makes the ELB 14 suitable for furniture, interior, display, architectural and specialist applications where all visible areas of the finished glass edge must meet a high aesthetic standard.
The ELB 14 is built around Bovoneโs robust cast-iron machine base. The rigidity of the machine body and the quality of the materials used in its construction provide excellent stability, reduced vibration and reliable processing accuracy over long production cycles.
Simple and user-friendly control software helps operators manage the machine efficiently, while its accessible design simplifies tooling setup, wheel replacement and routine maintenance. The machine is suitable for experienced operators as well as production environments where ease of use and repeatable setup are important.
A Fully Automatic configuration is also available. Depending on the final specification, automatic functions can include wheel-wear compensation, quick wheel setup and visual and audible warnings when grinding or polishing wheels require replacement.
The ELB 14 can operate as a standalone edging machine or be integrated with conveyors, glass washing equipment and automated loading and unloading systems. It is also suitable for integration into complete Bovone robotic glass-processing cells.
Stone & Glass Group supplies the Bovone ELB 14 throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Benelux, supported by installation, commissioning, operator training, tooling, spare parts, servicing and comprehensive after-sales support.
