About the Bovone ELB 14/45 Variable-Angle Glass Edging Machine
The Bovone ELB 14/45 is a high-performance variable-angle straight-line glass edging machine designed to grind and polish flat edges, inclined edges and arrises in a single pass.
Its 14-wheel processing configuration allows the machine to complete the full edge-finishing sequence without requiring the glass to be transferred to a separate machine. This improves production efficiency, reduces manual handling and helps minimise the risk of damaging the glass between processing stages.
The mitre angle is continuously adjustable from 0ยฐ to 45ยฐ, enabling the ELB 14/45 to produce standard flat edges and precision inclined edges for architectural, furniture, interior and specialist glass applications.
Working speed is continuously adjustable from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min. This allows the production parameters to be matched to the glass thickness, mitre angle, amount of material being removed and required finishing quality.
The machine processes glass from 3 to 60 mm thick as standard. An optional configuration is available for glass up to 90 mm thick, making the ELB 14/45 suitable for a particularly broad range of monolithic and specialist glass products.
Minimum glass sizes depend on the glass thickness and selected processing configuration. For glass up to 19 mm thick, published minimum sizes include 85 ร 85 mm, 110 ร 110 mm and 140 ร 140 mm. For glass from 19 to 60 mm thick, minimum sizes include 110 ร 110 mm, 140 ร 140 mm and 160 ร 160 mm.
The wheel arrangement produces a high-quality finish on the flat or inclined edge and the arrises during the same production pass. This makes the machine particularly suitable for applications where both dimensional accuracy and the appearance of the completed glass edge are important.
The ELB 14/45 is built around Bovoneโs robust cast-iron machine base. This rigid construction reduces vibration and resists machine torsion during processing, supporting precise mitre angles, consistent polishing quality and reliable long-term operation.
Simple and user-friendly control software helps operators manage production parameters and switch between flat-edge and inclined-edge processing efficiently. The machine is designed to simplify wheel setup, tooling adjustment and routine maintenance.
A Fully Automatic configuration is also available. Depending on the final specification, automatic functions can include wheel-wear compensation, quick wheel setup and visual and audible warnings when grinding or polishing wheels require replacement.
The ELB 14/45 can operate as a standalone variable-angle edging machine or be integrated with conveyors, glass washing equipment and automated loading and unloading systems. It can also be incorporated into complete Bovone robotic glass-processing cells.
Stone & Glass Group supplies the Bovone ELB 14/45 throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Benelux, supported by installation, commissioning, operator training, tooling, spare parts, servicing and comprehensive after-sales support.
