About the Bovone ELB 102 Straight-Line Glass Edging Machine
The Bovone ELB 102 is a versatile, high-performance straight-line glass edging machine designed to produce consistently accurate flat polished edges and arrises during continuous production.
Its ten-wheel configuration provides a complete grinding and polishing sequence in a single pass. By selecting different grinding-wheel arrangements, the machine can be configured to balance production speed, tooling costs and finishing quality according to the customerโs specific requirements.
This flexibility makes the ELB 102 suitable for a wide range of applications, from processing small glass pieces with an exceptionally high-quality finish to edging large panels for architectural and exterior-glazing projects.
The ELB 102 works at continuously adjustable speeds from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min. It is capable of maintaining production speeds above 2.5 m/min, making it particularly suitable for glass processors handling large production batches and requiring consistent output throughout extended working cycles.
The machine processes glass from 2 to 30 mm thick as standard, with an optional configuration for glass up to 50 mm.
Minimum glass sizes vary according to thickness. Glass up to 6 mm thick can be processed from 40 ร 40 mm. Glass up to 19 mm can be processed from 50 ร 50 mm or 40 ร 80 mm. For glass above 19 mm, the minimum size is 70 ร 70 mm.
The final polishing positions can be equipped with cerium-impregnated felt wheels, producing excellent flatness, clarity and visual quality on the finished glass edge. This makes the ELB 102 particularly suitable for furniture, interior, architectural and design applications where edge appearance is important.
The machine is built on Bovoneโs robust cast-iron base frame, providing excellent structural rigidity and resistance to torsion. This stable construction supports precise grinding, reliable polishing and consistent long-term performance while reducing vibration and mechanical wear.
Simple and user-friendly control software helps operators manage machine settings and production parameters efficiently. Routine tooling, wheel adjustment and maintenance operations are designed to be straightforward, helping minimise downtime during production.
The ELB 102 can operate as a standalone glass edging machine or be integrated with conveyors, glass washing equipment and robotic loading and unloading systems. Integration into a Bovone robotic processing cell can reduce manual handling, improve production speed and support continuous or operator-free production.
Stone & Glass Group supplies the Bovone ELB 102 throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Benelux, supported by installation, commissioning, operator training, tooling, spare parts, servicing and comprehensive after-sales support.
