Bovone ELB 10+1 Straight-Line Glass Edging Machine

The Bovone ELB 10+1 is a high-performance straight-line glass edging machine with an integrated automatic corner-dubbing unit, designed to combine precision edge processing and glass-corner finishing within one flexible production system.

The machine performs the complete grinding and polishing of flat glass edges and arrises while also automatically dubbing the glass corners. When corner dubbing is not required, the dubbing operation can be bypassed, allowing the ELB 10+1 to operate as a conventional straight-line edging machine.

Glass edging speeds are continuously adjustable from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min, with corner dubbing performed at speeds of up to 2.5 m/min. This flexibility enables production parameters to be matched to different glass thicknesses, product types and finishing requirements.

The ELB 10+1 processes glass from 2 to 30 mm thick as standard, with an optional configuration for glass up to 60 mm. When using the automatic corner-dubbing unit, glass thicknesses from 2 to 15 mm can be processed.

Minimum glass sizes depend on the thickness and type of processing. Glass up to 6 mm thick can be processed from 50 × 50 mm. Glass up to 19 mm can be processed from 55 × 55 mm or 45 × 80 mm, while glass above 19 mm requires a minimum size of 75 × 75 mm. When automatic corner dubbing is used, the minimum glass size is 150 × 150 mm for glass up to 15 mm thick.

The machine can achieve an exceptionally high-quality polished edge through the use of liquid cerium, making it suitable for applications where both processing accuracy and the visual appearance of the finished glass are important.

The ELB 10+1 is constructed around Bovone’s robust cast-iron machine base. This heavy-duty structure provides excellent rigidity, eliminates machine torsion and supports accurate, repeatable grinding and polishing during demanding continuous-production cycles.

An automatic grinding-wheel adjustment and wear-compensation system helps optimise abrasive-wheel use and maintain consistent processing quality. The machine has also been designed to simplify routine maintenance, wheel setup and tooling operations.

The Bovone ELB 10+1 can process glass travelling continuously along conveyor belts or work in combination with robotic glass-handling equipment. It can be installed as a standalone machine, incorporated into an inline production system or integrated into a fully automated robotic processing cell.
