Cms Runner & Runner Line Automatic Glass Cutting Tables

The CMS Runner range provides flexible and productive solutions for straight and shaped cutting of flat glass.

Both machines use three interpolated axes and are designed for accurate cutting of flat glass in a wide range of sizes and thicknesses.

The CMS Runner is particularly suitable for workshops that require a versatile stand-alone cutting table with easy loading, compact installation and the ability to process both straight and shaped glass components.

Its mechanical tilting system raises and lowers the worktable in less than 20 seconds. Unlike hydraulic systems, the chain-driven design is intended to reduce maintenance and provide smooth, reliable movement.

Automatic loading feet extend when the table tilts, helping support the glass during loading and unloading.

A high-pressure turbine creates an air cushion across the table, allowing large sheets to move more easily. The air cushion can be adjusted to suit the dimensions and thickness of the glass.

The cutting head is designed by CMS and automatically controls cutting pressure according to glass thickness. It also adjusts the cutting-oil flow according to cutting speed.

The standard C axis provides accurate straight and shaped cutting.

The optional four-head cutting system allows different glass thicknesses to be processed without manually changing the cutting wheel. Each head carries a wheel selected for a particular thickness, reducing setup time between jobs.

The Runner can also be equipped with the double-zero function for semi-automatic laminated-glass cutting. The software creates two mirrored programs and references the glass against opposite stops to maintain alignment between the two cutting sides.

An optional peripheral grinding wheel removes Low-E coatings at speeds of up to 80 m/min, making the machine suitable for continuous processing of coated glass.

The CMS Runner Line is designed for higher-volume automated production.

It combines a fixed cutting table with transport belts that automatically move the glass through each stage of the process, including infeed, positioning, cutting and outfeed.

The Runner Line is normally installed with an automatic loader and breakout table, creating a continuous cutting line and reducing the handling delays associated with stand-alone tables.

Loading systems can be configured with between one and four stations, with left-hand, right-hand or double-sided loading.

A pneumatic side reference positions incoming sheets accurately before cutting.

The Runner Line can also integrate barcode printing and label application. This allows individual cut pieces to be identified and traced through the factory, while reducing manual labelling errors.

CMS states that integrated label printing can provide time savings of more than 31%, depending on the production process.

Both Runner and Runner Line can be equipped with optical shape reading, vinyl cutting, automatic Low-E removal, four-head cutting and advanced Optima optimisation software.
