Dodecawire Multi wire

The Pellegrini Dodecawire is a flexible multi-wire diamond saw designed for the productive cutting of thin and thick slabs from natural stone blocks.

Using up to 12 diamond wires simultaneously, Dodecawire provides an effective balance between production capacity and flexibility. Unlike multi-wire machines dedicated primarily to one standard slab thickness, the Dodecawire can be configured for a wide range of slab thicknesses, making it particularly suitable for producers working with varied orders and finished products.

The machine provides a useful cutting capacity of approximately 3.5 m wide × 2.1 m high and can operate with between 2 and 12 diamond wires, depending on the required slab configuration.

At maximum 12-wire configuration, published technical information gives an adjustable slab thickness range of approximately 21–81 mm. Reducing the number of installed wires substantially increases the possible spacing, allowing the machine to produce much thicker sections when required.

A major feature of Dodecawire is Pellegrini's E.A.S.T. – Easy Adjustable Slab Thickness system. This allows the wire spacing to be changed relatively quickly, providing flexibility for both metric and imperial slab dimensions and enabling different thickness requirements to be accommodated without turning thickness adjustment into a major production changeover.

The cutting system incorporates a large 2.35 m diameter drive drum, together with 12 independent 2 m diameter flywheels and a 0.8 m guide drum. The large wheel diameters reduce bending stress on the diamond wires, contributing to improved wire life.

Diamond-wire speed is variable from 0–40 m/s through inverter control, allowing cutting parameters to be adapted to the stone being processed. The published main wire-drive motor power is 45 kW.

The heavy machine structure uses two vertical rectangular columns designed to provide high resistance to bending and torsional forces, creating the rigidity required for accurate multi-wire cutting.

Dodecawire is available in both fixed and Roller versions, allowing the installation arrangement to be selected around the production facility and material-handling requirements.

For stone processors that need greater productivity than a single-wire or small multi-wire system but still require considerable flexibility in finished slab thickness, Dodecawire provides a strong intermediate solution for marble, granite and dimensional-stone slab production.
