Pentawire Multi Wire

The Pellegrini Pentawire is a flexible multi-wire diamond saw designed for producing multiple slabs simultaneously from marble, granite and other natural stone blocks.

Equipped for up to five diamond wires, the Pentawire combines increased production capacity with considerably more flexibility than larger multi-wire systems dedicated primarily to high-volume production of standard slab thicknesses.

The machine can make several parallel cuts through a block during a single cutting cycle, allowing multiple slabs to be produced simultaneously. The number and spacing of the wires can be configured according to the required finished product.

This makes Pentawire particularly useful for processors producing a mixture of standard slabs, thick slabs and dimensional stone, rather than requiring one fixed thickness throughout production.

The machine offers a useful cutting capacity of approximately 3,500 mm wide × 2,100 mm high, providing capacity for substantial marble and granite blocks.

A key feature is Pellegrini's Multi-Pull® independent wire tensioning technology, designed to maintain consistent tension across the individual diamond wires. Independent tensioning helps maintain accurate cutting conditions even when individual wire lengths differ.

Diamond-wire speed is variable from 0–40 m/s, controlled by an inverter, allowing cutting parameters to be adjusted according to the stone being processed. Published technical information gives a 30 kW wire-drive motor and 7.5 kW raising/lowering motor.

The Pentawire AT version provides quick thickness adjustment, making the machine particularly useful where production frequently changes between different slab dimensions.

Pentawire can accommodate both metric and imperial slab dimensions, increasing its flexibility for producers supplying different markets and specialist architectural applications.

The machine is controlled through a PLC system and is available in both fixed and Roller versions, with the Roller configuration allowing the machine itself to travel along tracks.

For natural stone processors that need more productivity than a single- or two-wire machine without moving to a large high-wire-count production system, Pentawire provides an excellent balance of production capacity, thickness flexibility and relatively simple operation.
