Bovone Stonedge 15/45 Variable-Angle Stone Edging Polishing and Calibration

The Bovone Stonedge 15/45 is an automatic variable-angle straight-line edging machine designed for the simultaneous processing of flat edges, inclined edges, thickness calibration and front and rear arrises.

Its fifteen-wheel configuration allows several operations to be completed in one continuous pass. The machine can process a standard flat edge at 0°, an inclined or mitred edge at any selected angle up to 45°, calibrate the material thickness and finish both arrises.

This combined processing capability reduces the need for separate production stages and additional handling. It helps improve dimensional consistency and provides accurately prepared components for kitchen worktops, furniture, cladding and specialist architectural applications.

The variable-angle processing group is adjustable from 0° to 45°. This allows the Stonedge 15/45 to manufacture conventional polished flat edges as well as accurately controlled inclined edges for mitred and bonded assemblies.

Integrated calibration wheels control the material thickness before the final edging and polishing stages. This is particularly useful when processing slabs with thickness variations or when components must fit together accurately after machining.

Working speed is continuously adjustable from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min. The processing speed can be matched to the material, slab thickness, selected angle, amount of material being removed and required finish.

The machine processes materials from 3 to 50 mm thick. Minimum workpiece dimensions vary according to thickness and processing angle.

For materials up to 19 mm thick, the published minimum dimensions are 85 × 85 mm at 0°, 110 × 110 mm at 22.5° and 140 × 140 mm at 45°.

For materials above 19 mm thick, the technical comparison table lists minimum sizes of 85 × 85 mm at 0°, 110 × 110 mm at 22.5° and 140 × 140 mm at 45°. Final minimum sizes should be confirmed against the selected tooling and quotation.

The Stonedge 15/45 produces front and rear arrises up to 5 mm wide. Its wheel arrangement combines metallic diamond wheels, resin-bond diamond wheels, calibration wheels and polishing wheels to deliver controlled material removal and consistent finishing.

The machine is built on Bovone’s robust cast-iron base frame. This rigid construction helps minimise vibration, maintain accurate spindle positioning and support repeatable results throughout continuous production.

Long infeed and outfeed supports provide stable slab handling, while the transport system securely guides the material through the calibration, grinding and polishing positions.

The machine is suitable for marble, granite, quartz, ceramic, porcelain, sintered surfaces and engineered stone, subject to the selected Bovone Diamond Tools configuration.
