About the Bovone Jolly 4.0 45° Stone Edging Machine
The Bovone Jolly 4.0 is a specialised straight-line edging machine designed for the accurate preparation of mitred edges that will subsequently be joined by gluing.
It is particularly suited to the production of boxed kitchen worktops, waterfall ends, splashbacks, skirting pieces, upstands and other fabricated components requiring a precise 45° joint.
The machine uses four diamond wheels. The first three fixed-position wheels process the inclined edge at an adjustable angle from 45° to 47°. A fourth peripheral wheel completes either a flat arris or rounded edge radius during the same production pass.
Completing the inclined edge and arris in one operation reduces additional handling and helps produce components that are ready for bonding and assembly. Accurate edge geometry and consistent flatness support close-fitting joints and a high-quality finished appearance.
The Jolly 4.0 processes ceramic and porcelain slabs, natural stone including marble, granite and quartz, and engineered or sintered materials such as Dekton, Laminam and comparable technical surfaces.
Working speed is continuously adjustable from 0.35 to 5.4 m/min, allowing processing conditions to be matched to the material, slab thickness, required finish and amount of material being removed.
The machine processes materials from 3 to 30 mm thick. One of its most useful capabilities is the processing of narrow pieces from approximately 30 mm high, making it suitable for splashbacks, skirting, upstands and detailed worktop components.
Minimum piece dimensions depend on material thickness and whether one or two 45° edges are required. Pieces up to 12 mm thick can be processed from 30 × 350 mm for one mitred edge or 40 × 350 mm for two mitred edges.
For materials from 12 to 20 mm thick, minimum dimensions range from 40 × 350 mm for one edge to 75 × 350 mm for two edges. For materials from 20 to 30 mm thick, minimum dimensions are 55 × 350 mm for one edge and 90 × 350 mm for two edges.
The carefully engineered front and rear tracks provide secure grip and controlled material transport throughout the process. Combined with Bovone’s cast-iron machine base, this helps reduce vibration and supports accurate, repeatable edge grinding.
The machine has been designed for straightforward setup and operation. This makes it suitable for specialist stone fabricators as well as businesses introducing automated mitre-edge production for the first time.
Its compact dimensions allow the Jolly 4.0 to provide productive straight-line mitring without requiring the space or investment associated with a larger multi-purpose edging machine.
Stone & Glass Group supplies the Bovone Jolly 4.0 throughout the United Kingdom, Ireland and the Benelux, supported by installation, commissioning, operator training, diamond tooling, spare parts, servicing and comprehensive after-sales support.
