About the Cms Brembana Electa 3- or 4-Axis CNC Stone Machining Centre

The CMS Brembana Electa is a compact CNC machining centre with three or four interpolated axes for processing slabs and blocks of marble, granite, synthetic stone and ceramic.

It performs rough and polished edge contouring, milling, drilling, countersinking, pocketing, bas-relief work and lettering.

The heavy monobloc structure integrates the machine guards, sliding doors, water-collection tanks, machine systems and electrical cabinet. This provides a compact installation while maintaining a large working area.

CMS positions the Brembana Electa as the most compact machining centre in its stone range and states that it offers approximately 15% more working area than the average comparable machine. Its monobloc structure is designed to dampen vibration and support consistent finishing quality.

The X and Y axes travel at speeds of up to 72 m/min, reducing movement time between operations and supporting efficient worktop and component production.

The optional fourth rotary C axis provides continuous 360-degree rotation at rapid speeds up to 9000 degrees per minute. This allows the use of angular transmissions for side machining, cup-wheel polishing and other operations that require the tool to rotate around the workpiece.

The machine uses an 11.5 kW electrospindle with an ISO 40 connection. The current CMS technical data lists a maximum spindle speed of 15,000 rpm and torque of 18.5 Nm at 6000 rpm.

A three-step swivelling head can be supplied for machining sloping drainers in kitchen worktops. The unit can machine an inclined surface in either direction, allowing drainage grooves and sloping areas to be produced without manually repositioning the component.

A 90-degree angular transmission is available for flat grinding wheels, cup wheels and polishing discs.

The thickness probe measures the actual slab thickness before machining. The CNC program can then compensate for variation in the material to improve finished dimensions and edge quality.

The machine incorporates a 580-litre external process-water recovery tank and a separate tank for the liquid-ring vacuum pump. Both tanks are positioned beneath the machine base to minimise the overall footprint.

The Metal Synthetic Technology worktable uses a quartz-based construction to help dampen machining vibration and improve the quality of the finished surface. CMS describes a total machine footprint of approximately 18 mยฒ with capacity for workpieces up to around 5.4 mยฒ.

The machine can be equipped with up to 26 tool positions, allowing a broad range of profiling, polishing, drilling and milling tools to remain available without frequent manual retooling.

Typical applications include kitchen worktops, bathroom tops, tables, wall cladding, furniture cladding, fireplace components, steps, thresholds, windowsills, funerary art, mosaics and decorative stone products.

EasyStone CAD/CAM software manages machine programming, toolpaths, component geometry, suction-cup positioning, simulation and machining-time calculation.

Stone & Glass Group supplies the CMS Brembana Electa throughout the UK and Ireland, supported by application assessment, installation, commissioning, operator training, tooling, spare parts and technical service.
