Bendit

The R&R Bendit range has been developed specifically for the production of high-accuracy spacer frames for the insulating glass industry.

Designed around a modular machine concept, Bendit provides solutions ranging from simpler bending equipment through to highly automated production systems with large spacer profile magazines. R&R places particular emphasis on dimensional accuracy, short set-up times and straightforward operation.

The machines can process conventional aluminium and stainless-steel spacer profiles, together with cold-bendable hybrid warm-edge profiles including Rolltech, TGI and Thermix. Low-Psi profiles can also be processed using R&R's additional milling technology.

The XL bending system provides individual quick-change tooling and can process pre-filled profiles. R&R publishes optimised cycle times of approximately 25 seconds per frame for this configuration.

For manufacturers producing shaped IGUs, an optional active three-roller radius bending system allows radius profiles to be formed in-line, while dedicated software supports the production of radius models.

Additional options allow the Bendit to be configured around the wider IGU production process, including drilling for gas filling and pressure compensation, automatic frame connecting and interfaces for inkjet printing.

The Bendit can also be combined with R&R's Romillo technology. This allows a Bendit L or XL to switch between bending and milling while retaining the full bending functionality of the machine. With the optional 25-cartridge profile magazine, R&R states that more than 5,000 linear metres of spacer profile can be stored for automated production.

This flexibility makes Bendit suitable for IGU manufacturers looking for anything from efficient spacer-frame production through to a highly automated system capable of handling a broad mix of conventional and warm-edge spacer technologies.
