Altimeter IGU Pressure Compensation System

The R&R Altimeter is a specialist pressure compensation system for insulating glass production, designed to prepare sealed IGUs for differences in atmospheric pressure between the manufacturing facility and their final installation location.

Changes in altitude and atmospheric pressure can create pressure differences between the sealed cavities of an insulating glass unit and the surrounding atmosphere. This is particularly relevant when finished units are transported over significant changes in elevation or installed at a substantially different altitude from where they were manufactured.

The R&R Altimeter allows the internal pressure of the IGU to be adjusted during production according to the atmospheric conditions expected at the installation site.

A flexible valve plug and matching closure system maintain the established pressure difference after the injection needle has been removed, providing a controlled and reproducible process.

The system is also suitable for triple-glazed insulating glass units, making it relevant to modern high-performance glazing production.

For additional process control, R&R offers optional glass analysis software from m.k.t., while production data can be transferred using a USB stick. R&R also supplies the corresponding injection needles, valve plugs and closure plugs required for the system.
