About the LineScanner
The LineScanner is the complete solution for quality inspection of transparent flat glass products, including single sheets, insulating glass, automotive glass, processed glass, polycarbonate and film. It inspects products with high precision for optical defects such as scratches, inclusions, edge chips, screen printing and bars, as well as dimensional defects covering overall dimensions and drill hole diameter and position. Glass thickness, the coating side and the element structure can all be examined quickly and easily.
Softsolution has worked on the complex task of flat glass quality assessment for over 25 years. The LineScanner uses a unique parallel light technology rather than camera based methods, inspecting every area of an object at 90 degrees for stable and repeatable results. The same setup inspects single sheets and finished insulating glass units, both horizontally and vertically, which gives the system exceptional flexibility and ease of use.
Defect categorisation in the LineScanner software is supported by artificial intelligence. The system learns from operator feedback and continuously improves its evaluation, so false quality rejects are reduced over time. When an operator judges a software decision differently, the software adopts that change and applies it to future evaluations.
Developed and produced in Waidhofen an der Ybbs, Austria, the LineScanner has more than 750 installations worldwide. It helps glass processors deliver consistent quality to their customers and reduce complaint rates.
