VirtualDigitizing

VirtualDigitizing is a software application for flexible template digitisation that can be used quickly and easily in any industry. With the help of a calibrated digital camera, a reference measure and the software's contour detection, any template, pattern or object can be converted into a DXF file in under five minutes. Objects from a few millimetres to several metres in size can be digitised, and standard paper sizes or Plexiglas plates can provide the scale, which also makes the system suitable for small measurements on construction sites.

The workflow has three steps. First, photograph the template including four reference points with crosshairs, which form the basis for the exact calculation. Second, open the digital image in the VirtualDigitizing software with a single click and define the markings at the template edges, along with any drill holes or cut outs, manually or automatically. Third, the software generates a high precision DXF file that can be sent straight to any type of cutting equipment and into production. Automatic contour smoothing means no further editing is required before cutting.

VirtualDigitizing replaces the laborious use of a physical digitising table and can save up to 50 percent of digitising time. Once acquired it is completely maintenance free. The current version 20.2 adds a 30 layer structure, a PDF print function, a zoom window for detail areas, improved spline optimisation, automatic name suggestions when saving and automatic country language recognition.
