Digital Printing Dryers

As digital printing on glass grows, it needs increasingly precise, controlled and reliable drying. Cugher digital printing dryers extend the know how developed in screen printing to digital work, controlling both thermal parameters and airflow for uniform, stable drying even with highly sensitive digital inks.

Digital inks are sensitive to air movement and temperature in the early drying stages, so the dryers use a soft diffusion ventilation system with large diameter holes. This prevents ink displacement before drying is complete, distributes temperature uniformly across the glass and preserves print quality on complex images. Infrared radiation is combined with hot air recirculation for efficient, controlled energy transfer, managing digital ink thicknesses up to 100 microns while improving adhesion and final print quality.

Technical features include operating temperatures up to 250 degrees C, forced fume extraction with a dedicated fan per module, a modular structure with two metre hot and cold sections, stainless steel hot module heads and a new polygonal design. The IR-J range for digital printing spans the IR-J-100, 130, 160, 200, 230 and 250, in B (belt) and R (roller) transport versions.
